Mold Spores and Headaches: The Overlooked Autumn Trigger

Mold spores are the allergen almost nobody checks, and in a damp autumn they routinely outnumber pollen grains in outdoor air by a wide margin. Pollen forecasts are everywhere. Spore forecasts are buried, if they are published at all. The result is a large number of people who correctly identify that their headaches worsen in September and October, incorrectly attribute all of it to ragweed, and then find their symptoms continue after the first frost has killed every ragweed plant in the region.

If your bad stretch runs past the frost, or if it tracks rainfall rather than dry breezy days, mold is the more likely explanation.
