Cervicogenic Headache: When Your Neck Is the Source
· 9 min read
Cervicogenic headache is head pain attributed to a disorder in the neck. It is not simply any headache accompanied by a stiff neck: migraine and other headaches can also involve neck discomfort. Diagnosis requires evidence connecting the neck disorder to the headache and consideration of other explanations.
If your head hurts after a long desk session or turning your neck seems to aggravate it, describe that pattern to a clinician. It may be relevant, but it is not a home diagnostic test. The practical goal is to identify what needs assessment, choose a suitable plan and avoid assuming that posture explains every new headache.
