Ladue occupies leafy, gently rolling ground in inner St. Louis County, on the tongue of land between the lower Missouri River to the north and the Mississippi to the east, a short distance upstream of their confluence. Its position near the geographic centre of the continent produces one of the widest annual barometric pressure ranges in the United States. There is no ocean nearby to moderate anything.
