Otsego sits at roughly 880 feet on the bank of the Mississippi where the river runs southeast toward Minneapolis, about thirty miles upstream and just far enough out to escape the worst of the metropolitan heat island. Its weather is fully continental, with one of the largest annual temperature ranges of any inhabited place in the lower forty-eight, and the barometer shows it.
